Background
Daan van Eijk (1961) was trained as an industrial design engineer at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering at the Delft University of Technology. Through 15 years of professional practice, in particular in a design firm, he has gained extensive experience within the field of industrial design. While the multidisciplinary aproach is central to him, his perspective is almost always from the point of usage and the user. He has a great deal of experience with application of ergonomic knowledge in design projects, and the analysis and evaluation of the product in use. In 2004, he has been appointed as a professor at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering of the Delft University of Technology. Here Daan van Eijk is head of the Applied Ergonomics and Design group. Furthermore he is a member of the Dutch Platform for Product Development, member of the platform industrial design studios BNO and co-founder of the assosiation for sustainable design. He also is an editor of the magazine ‘Sports & Leisure Management’.
Involvement
Daan van Eijk is involved in the project as a project-leader. Besides of this role he is also the promoter of Jasper van Kuijck.
