Background
Henri Christiaans (1947) is an associate professor at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering of the Delft University of Technology (TUD). He received an MSc degree in Psychology of the University of Amsterdam. Later on he also received a PhD from the TUD on a dissertation entitled ‘Creation in Design: the role of domain knowledge in design’. Now, behalf of his responsibilities within several bachelor- and master courses regarding design research and design didactics, Mr. Christiaans performs research in the directions of design methodology and cognitive ergonomics.
He also is a visiting professor at the University of Dar es Salaam (Tanzania), The Korean University of Technology (South Korea) and the Fachhochschule Voralberg (Austria). Furthermore Henri is member of PATO-board (Post-academic Education in Technology) and chairman of PATO committee ‘Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Design Engineering. Besides he is working as an editor-in-chief of the ‘Journal of Design Research’
Involvement
Henri Christiaans is involved in the project as the daily supervisor to the project “User characteristics” of Chajoong Kim.
