In 2009, 2010 and 2011 the DfU team organized symposia on World Usability Day. At these symposia people from industry, design agencies and universities updated their usability knowledge via inspiring lectures and workshops. These symposia helped to gain attention for the need to create more usable products and it provided many attendants the opportunity to meet other people active in the field of usability.
2011 At the symposium on ‘Usability Methods & tools: putting research into practice’ the project results were presented.
2010 This symposium was all about ‘Product Impact’, the research topic of one of the PhD’s.
2009 The DfU project group organised the first DfU symposium around the theme was ‘Usability Methods & tools: update usability knowledge’.
World usability day
World Usability Day was founded in 2005 as an initiative of the Usability Professionals’ Association to ensure that services and products important to human life are easier to access and simpler to use. Each year, on the second Thursday of November, over 200 events are organized in over 43 countries around the world. On this day, professionals in the field engage in discussion on the tools and issues central to excellent usability research, development and practice. A second aim of the day is to raise the general public’s awareness.
